Rone Shavers is a Ph.D. candidate in the Program for Writers at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where, thank God, he has just passed his comprehensive exams. He has had work appear in the literary journal WarpLand, and milkmag.org, to name a few local places, and has work forthcoming in ACM: Another Chicago Magazine. He often asks himself, "WWJD: What would [James] Joyce do?" before alternately stumbling home, or passing out in the gutter.
