Raised in the Watts neighborhood of south Los Angeles, Tracie D. Hall's poetry and short stories have been published in numeous journals. A recipient of grants and residencies for her writing, Hall divides her time between Chicago where she is a librarian and New Haven, where she tends a stubborn garden. Her mother's favorite color was red and that should explain everything.
