Consumer culture would have you believe the holiday season starts in October, and that a normal human being can sustain her holly jollies all the way through the start of the New Year. But we know that it's not always “the most wonderful time of the year.”  From the well-intentioned gatherings that dissolve into drunken dysfunction to the downright ho-ho-horrific, we will peel back the commercial façade and celebrate the truth about tradition, decorations and forced family togetherness.
